Manufacturing Day is a remarkable day where thousands of manufacturers around the country open their doors to inspire the next generation. The Manufacturing Day mission is to “address common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t.” Manufacturing Day is important to Malibu as the world’s largest manufacturer of watersports towboats with over 600 employees building boats in 3 manufacturing facilities. Today, Malibu and Axis boats are still handcrafted in the United States along the shore of the Tennessee River in Loudon, Tenn., and boast unmatched American engineering, luxury, technology, and quality.
At Malibu Boats, we celebrated Manufacturing Day throughout the week. All employees enjoyed a lunch, commemorative T-shirts, and treats from other Tennessee manufactures. On Thursday, October 4th, we hosted tours for area high school students from Loudon County High and Lenoir City High School. The students got a full tour of the Malibu Boats factory and learned about the various types of employment opportunities that Malibu has to offer.
Malibu Boats would not be as successful without their hard working, dedicated employees, so we like to take every opportunity we can to celebrate them and the community we share.
